2012 CHASE - IN REVIEW

Right off the bat, WOW ... what a year 2012 was for Storms around the Yorkton, Sk. area!

I was witness to some pretty incredible and powerful storms first hand! One of the more "dangerous" storms was on June 26, 2012. Yorkton was hit with over 2 inches of rain in a very short period of time - as well as some very powerful winds! [ photo ] Wroxton, Sk. on the other hand had a Plow Wind surge through, in the night (around 10:00 pm) causing power outages to some for 2-3 days as well as wreak havoc to various people's property. [ photo 1 ] [ photo 2 ] [ photo 3 ] The powerful storm also uprooted and tore trees down all over the Wroxton area. [ photo ] It even tore the bark off some trees! [ photo ] Unfortunately, the storm also did damage to an old Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church grave yard. [ photo 1 ] [ photo 2 ]

Another storm that I truly feel honored to of witnessed was on July 3, 2012.
It was quite the site to see - absolutely spectacular! The Storm began forming later in the afternoon. While it was forming, a beautiful sunset merged around it. [ photo ] Shortly after, the sky began to merge with the sunset and formed into this - [ photo ] After that, it began to blend into some 5 different colors [ photo ] ... that is when the lightning began to put on an awesome show! [ photo ] The storm lasted for some 20-30 minutes, and when it was all said and done, the whole sky was bright blue - Truly Fascinating!! [ photo ]

LIGHTNING ON CANADA DAY
Insane Lightning in Wroxton on Canada Day!! Standing in a field just outside of Wroxton, Sk. at 11:00 pm, absolutely amazed by the Light Show!!
lol, I was out in the middle of a field taking the pics ... layers of clothing on because of the crazy Mosquitoes - still eating through the clothing, sweating from the clothing and the humidity ... something running around in the bush beside me ... watching the heavy rain and hail coming closer ... then decided to run like HELL back home when it was over top ... Pictures were 100% Worth It :)
